In 1932, Carl Zigrosser served as an 'agent' for Jane Belo and Colin McPhee. At the time, they were travelling between Paris and the Far East (India, Java, Bali) collecting works of art, masks and marionettes, and taking photographs for planned publications. Belo's letters are full of directions about the contents of shipped trunks Zigrosser will be receiving, thoughts about possible publications, and impressions of foreign lands.
